Create a Button

Buttons can be used to draw your visitors' attention to important links, or add some color and visual elements to a text-heavy page.

The Button content module includes a link field and many customization options, but other modules such as Callout, Call to Action, Content Slider, etc. also include buttons within them that will have similar appearance and functionality.

How to Create a Button

To create a Button, navigate to the page on which you wish to place the button

  1. In the header bar, hover over Page Editor and select your page
  2. Click the + in the header bar to open the list of content items
  3. Click the Modules tab
  4. Drag & drop the Button module to the desired location on your page
  5. Configure your button settings:
  • Enter the Text you wish displayed on the button
  • (Optional) If you wish to include an Icon on your button, click the select icon link and choose from the available Font Icon Awesome icons. When selecting an icon you will also be able to choose where to position the icon as well as the visibility of the icon
  • Choose the desired Click Action:
    • Link: Choose this option if you wish to link to another location. If choosing this option, enter the URL or you can click Select and search for a post on your website. You will also set whether the link will open in a New Window, No Follow or Force Download.
    • Lightbox: A lightbox is an overlay or a popup window that goes over the website and shows a picture. They showcase the picture and darken the rest of the page, but still allows it to be visible around the edges. If this option is selected, you will enter the appropriate HTML code for the lightbox or a Video link.

Click Save. Once you have saved the button, be certain to click the Done button in the header bar to save the changes to the page.

This is a lightbox example. This box will allow plain text, HTML code, or a video link from YouTube or Vimeo.
